The Cheese Factory Restaurant gardens are a surprising and pleasant
respite from the bustling Wisconsin Dells aura of splashing waterparks
and wildly enticing family entertainment.
The viewer is greeted by a supremely joyful display of brilliantly vivid
colors from over 5,000 annuals.
Flourishing perennial borders line Highway 12 just outside the restaurant,
while cascading window boxes and containers brimming extravagantly greet
the customers along wistful winding pathways.
All four sides of the restaurant are brimming with unusual garden designs.
There is a fountain, a pergola, rustic arbors, a Zen/Dr Seuss inspired
evergreen topiary garden, begonia and fern beds, berms, shade and grass
gardens, a prairie, a wildflower garden and even picnic areas for all
to enjoy.
Rupi Franco, the creator of The Cheese Factory gardens, says "originally
I was a painter utilizing explosive colors, yet I found that flowers
are not only joyously nurturing to work with, but are a globally recognizable
language of profound unspeakable beauty, a language like love, that
everybody understands."
